>His body is not, in fact, aesthetically different from his original save for somewhat sleeker armour (which is par for the course, anyway, what with R&D and similar advancements). That's all a matter of art style between the series, and I will not enforce which style is "correct". As far as I'm concerned, they're just visual cues for the audience and the result of a change in artist. This means he's still quite tall and has massive hairfloof. It's not tied back, though.
>As Zero is not human, his body beneath the armour is not human, either. His body is black, composed of jointed and overlapping segments reminiscent of a doll but more precise. There are lines along various important body parts, and smaller ones that fill in the space so that sensory input is available everywhere it needs to be. All of this is covered by a well-fitted mesh "suit" that protects both his structure and the sensory lines, and allows air to flow through and cool down anywhere receiving too much input. Ken doll anatomy, sorry. It's a copy of his original, and Wily didn't really think about that.

>Though it appears wild and sometimes ill-thought out, Zero tends to know exactly what he's doing in terms of combat. Instantaneous assessments and modifiable algorithms help with this a lot.
>He's programmed to be able to perform said assessments, and previous years of application means he's that much quicker at it. Heuristics programming aids in this, as well.

>I do not pair with Leviathan or Ciel. Leviathan's too much like X's kid, for me, so it'd be like romancing his niece (similar sentiments apply to the other three Guardians), and Ciel's all of fourteen. Zero's mentally way too old for her, if nothing else. hgjk
>I do not normally pair with Iris, but I'm more open to it than with either Leviathan or Ciel. My headcanon for them is much closer to the idea of "they could have been, but ran out of time to reach for it" or otherwise more reminiscent of philia (depends how we're swinging it).
>...I just kind of don't pair Zero? X and Iris are the two I'm most likely to pair with, X being more likely by far on account of actually having something to work with.
>Others are a maybe if there's enough to work with...? It... yeah.
>Axl's babby rookie bro forever. No pls.
>All that said, if this ever even comes up where he's being played, one-sided/unrequited things are completely welcome. He just gets paired off so much in the fandom that this feels like a Thing I Need To Say.

>Zero is a quick study with weapons, as suggested by his repertoire in the Zero series and Megaman X8. This is due both to regular checking on the historical use of the weapon, if based on a pre-existing one, and analysis of it. He determines what works best with shape, weight, and flexibility with attacking through scans, digital trials, and practise.
>He can still use the weapons he acquired in X8, though he does not have access to them; these are among the memories stored in the aforementioned partition.
>The chain rod gave him the most trouble.
>ARMOUR things go here.

>Zero's memory is, in fact, complete. He doesn't recall things as clearly as he might have, had he not gone into such extensive hibernation. The memories remain, however; they're just fragmented. Others, essentially, have been moved to another partition and need only to be accessed.
>It isn't this "amnesia" that resulted in his personality shift. He's always been aloof, but in the previous entries to the series, we've seen him in the context of being around X. In the Zero series, he's virtually alone (despite Ciel's best efforts), and so that distance is what we primarily see. Zero also seems to become quieter and more serious as the X series progresses, leading up and into the Zero series personality, as well. He's also constantly in business mode, because unlike the X series, the Zero series is in a permanent state of crisis. This is not the fault of forgetting who he is, but rather a result of being who he is.

>Zero is not self-loathing or anything of the sort. He's only ever done what needs to be done.
>Guilt is another thing, entirely. He isn't wracked with it, but when it comes up, it can come up hard. "Could I have done anything else?" kinds of thoughts.
>Self-sacrifice isn't something he's keen on, so he doesn't go into fights thinking that's what's going to happen. He's aware it's a possibility, but his aim is to go in, do the job, and ideally come out alive.
>He recognises the Virus/"Omega" is a separate entity, now. He was never "Omega", as he sees it as a culmination of all the forms the Virus has taken over the decades that happens to be in control of his original body. And yes, he'll refer to "Omega" as "it". As a thing and not an individual.
